After outlining the important role of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s position in this debate, he turns to the concept of “Black radical sacrality” to recover a robust vision of solidarity that challenges the silencing of Black internationalist dissent and makes imaginable new forms of community.

In this article, Webb claims that insofar as they continue to omit analyses of colonialism and racialization, retellings of the biblical Exodus and of twentieth-century Black-Jewish relations—two historically significant narratives in the U.S. Black Christian imaginary—will continue to fuel xenophobic impulses that prevent much of Afro-Christianity from intentionally engaging Palestinian justice.
